Colorado Springs police said on Sunday that five people were murdered and 18 others injured in a shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub.

The club itself has labelled the attack a hate crime.

Lt. Pamela Castro of the Colorado Springs Police Department reported that at 11:57 p.m. on Saturday, a complaint of a shooting was made at Club Q. Shots were heard inside the club

club later reported that the shooter had been neutralised by the patrons.

According to Castro, one suspect was in jail and receiving medical attention.
