After Musk issued the ultimatum, a wave of employees quit their jobs at Twitter, which led to the abrupt closure of the company's offices.

On November 16, Elon Musk sent an email to staff in which he demanded that they either commit to a "very hardcore" work ethic and put in "long hours at high intensity" or they should resign from their positions.
